As the pre-eminent international award in the field of sustainable and renewable energy, The Zayed Future Energy Prize will complement the vision of the Founding Father of the UAE, and Abu Dhabi’s goal to maintain and continue to evolve as a global energy leader.

The world today stands at crossroads. The cost of fuel has risen to a level the world has never seen before. Developing countries are facing huge growth in energy demand as their economies become more sophisticated.
At the same time, we all recognise that climate change is a real and growing concern, and industrialised nations are trying desperately to reduce the burden their carbon intensive economies are placing on the environment. The world needs more energy. But we need energy that is sustainable, accessible and affordable for all.
Over the past two decades, there have been incredible advancements in alternative energy, driven by technological discoveries. And it is these developments that give us hope for a sustainable future.
As the pre-eminent international award in the field of sustainable and renewable energy, the Zayed Future Energy Prize will recognise those who are dedicating their time to the energy evolution. This Prize, we hope, will be a catalyst for further energy innovation and a symbol of hope for a truly sustainable future.
